A Second Runway and Large-Span Hangars
The expansion programme of Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport covers a 3,540 m second runway, new aprons and terminal structures. Alkazar carried out wind consultancy within the scope of this expansion.
Wind (suction) load analyses were also performed for the airport’s large-span steel hangar structures. The wind profile across the open apron and runway areas, together with the pressure coefficients on broad lightweight roofs, is decisive for both passenger comfort and structural safety.
