Façade Wind Loads on the Coastline
Developed by Özçelik İnşaat in Maltepe / Dragos, Istanbul, Luna Dragos is a mid-to-high-rise residential project of three blocks and 15 floors. Alkazar carried out the façade wind-load calculations for this project.
A sea-facing location, high reference wind speeds and the channelling (venturi) acceleration between blocks all require façade pressure coefficients to be determined accurately. The sloping topography of the Dragos ridge directly shapes the wind profile.
